Pulse Survey

Our Pulse Survey is a short, focused and action-oriented progress check. It complements the annual benchmark survey rather than replicating it.

Purpose

Use pulse surveys to monitor whether employment experience outcomes and selected priority drivers are improving, stable or declining between annual survey cycles.

Section Recommended approach
X-Factor outcomes Use the four X-Factor questions exactly so results remain comparable with the annual survey and prior pulse surveys.
EOF driver questions Use a small set of selected driver questions linked to current priorities. Keep most items stable during an action cycle.
Open text Ask one practical improvement question focused on the next three months.
Rotating item Add one optional rotating item only where there is a clear decision or issue to test.

Cadence

Quarterly is appropriate where the organisation has the capacity to analyse, communicate and respond. A slower cadence is preferable to collecting feedback more often than leaders can act.

Reporting focus

  • Headline X-Factor movement.
  • Movement on selected EOF driver questions.
  • Priority differences by business unit or workforce segment.
  • Top open-text themes.
  • What requires enterprise action, local action or further analysis.
  • The close-the-loop message to employees.
