Current State Review
The current state review maps existing feedback channels, people metrics and action mechanisms before changing the listening framework.
| Category | Examples | Review questions |
|---|---|---|
| Formal surveys | Annual employee survey, pulse surveys, wellbeing surveys, change surveys. | What exists? What is useful? What duplicates other channels? What action followed? |
| Lifecycle feedback | Onboarding, probation, exit feedback, stay interviews, candidate experience. | Which moments are measured? Where are employees silent? How are themes used? |
| Leader-led practices | Team meetings, toolbox talks, staff forums, manager check-ins, focus groups. | How consistent is local dialogue? Are themes captured and escalated? |
| People metrics | Turnover, absence, vacancies, internal mobility, performance data. | Which metrics are available and reliable? How are they connected to feedback? |
| Risk and employee relations signals | WHS, psychosocial risk, grievances, complaints, investigations, industrial matters. | Which signals require monitoring? How are safety and wellbeing risks escalated? |
| Culture and communication inputs | Staff briefings, intranet feedback, executive forums, recognition programs. | What informal feedback already exists? Is it acted on or only anecdotal? |
| Action planning mechanisms | Executive reports, business unit action plans, Workforce Management Strategy, OD plans. | Where do actions go? Who owns them? How is progress reviewed? |
Output
The output should identify gaps, duplication, low-value activity, confidentiality risks, missing metrics and priority design decisions for the next listening cycle.
