Framework Maintenance and Governance

Updated August 2026

The listening framework should be maintained as an active operating system. It should be reviewed after each annual cycle and after any material change to survey methodology, reporting, governance or organisational priorities.

Maintenance principles

  • Keep the annual Employee Survey as the diagnostic anchor.
  • Preserve stable X-Factor wording for trend comparison.
  • Keep pulse questions stable during an action cycle unless there is a clear governance reason to change them.
  • Review lifecycle questions only where the employment process or reporting need has changed.
  • Retire channels or items that are not producing useful evidence or action.
  • Update templates when reporting thresholds, privacy requirements, governance roles or dashboard requirements change.
  • Keep all examples generic and remove local names, dates, fees and result values before sharing externally.

Which channels produced noise or fatigue? Identifies what to simplify or pause.
Were employees told what happened next? Tests trust and communication discipline.
Did leaders act on the evidence? Tests accountability.
Did X-Factors, priority drivers or people metrics move? Tests impact.
What should change next cycle? Sets the improvement agenda.
